Yeah, if anything this actually kinda screams desperation to fill posts to me

This is definitely just a broken clock coinciding with the time

And here I’ve tried generative LLMs about once a year and every time I go “what the fuck are people smoking to think this is good”.
I think everyone insisting all this stuff is providing value are legitimately idiots who haven’t spent even a half second thinking for themselves or about the future or the quality of their work.
I wish I was more dumb and saw these products working like you insist and didn’t have to spend half my time rejecting AI slop PRs that genuinely don’t address anything.

Except with stack overflow you can use your experience and pick the best code and onboard the comments discussing various aspects of the different answers. The LLMs don’t do that.
They can just spit out whatever the fuck they want and there’s no guidance or votes or comments. Just an averaging of everything.
Peter Cullen was the third I think.

Educated people statistically vote more in line with the left, not the right. They love the poorly educated

I view it more as society as a whole doesn’t tackle that topic and so people fall in line with someone if that makes sense. No one is specifically giving him the influence.
It’s the very fact anyone can attract a large audience just by talking and become a celebrity that people follow

The crazy thing is people could look at both issues validly but seem incapable.
Piker has a huge influence over young people on the left
This seems bad, not because of Piker but because we as a society keep buying into this myth of stoic individual leaders who see the truth and giving individuals outsized influence. Of course that isn’t what anyone brings up about Piker because it would also impact their favourite mouthpiece if people woke up to it.
He’s been able to mobilize his fans to help elect Dem Socialists across the board.
This is good. People are rallying behind a cause and toppling entrenched wealth for it. People do these absurd purity tests all the time like with Piker and forget the bigger picture or fail to think long term. No one will pass every purity test. Ever. People just need to recognize tackling the biggest issues and keeping momentum is important

Note though that he very much is not against AIPAC or the slaughter they enable by buying politicians. He’s just against the bad PR at this specific moment
I thought he died in a Canadian prison
~pulls knife out of a fascist~ oh crap. Sibshops gave me literally only one rule

Pretty sure Linux is cheaper…

Good things Bluey isn’t made in America.

Can you switch to IPv6? My ISP NATs me on IPv4 but I’m clear through on IPv6 and so that’s how I run everything.
I’m assuming the NAT is your ISP’s, if it’s yours then ignore me.

Hopefully this ends up like AIPAC with Haley Stevens in Michigan. $60 million just to lose

That reminds me, I need to go get one. Need a new in kitchen compost bin.

Does the book hold up or does a new book talk about it better? I’ve been trying to slowly convince some of my wife’s friends that no, you don’t really need to buy 100 trinkets everywhere you go just because they’re there. I think I’ve at least gotten through to their nephew that a few cool things and time with friends is enough.

I’ve still got my Protostar. I’m okay with yoyo and skateboards making a big comeback

I don’t know if you’re joking or not but “Sunk Cost Fallacy” sounds like a great band/album name.
I keep joking with a buddy we’re gonna start a bagpipe ska punk band. Need to use this name somewhere if we ever actually do it
Depends on the available memory and size of the tables. I’ve worked on cases where time to compute didn’t matter as much as shaving off three more bytes did. Large lookup tables would have absolutely killed us compared to running some math.
