The second CPU is the GBA CPU, but at twice the clockspeed (which can then downclock for GBA games). You’re double-counting it and making it sound like the system had three.

The 3DS is the real funny one, adding its own new CPU alongside both the DS and GBA CPUs. So that’s actually three.

I really don’t trust BlueSky. I feel like they call themselves federated as a marketing gimmick to convince people they’re better than every other corporate social network, but they’ve deliberately set it up so that 99.9% of everything is going through their central server anyway. And it frustrates me that a lot of people have bought into that lie. I got my degree in CS a decade ago, but wasn’t able to get my foot in the door finding any entry level position in the field. Had to give up and work a shitty unrelated job elsewhere, but after letting it drain my my soul for too long I’ve spent all year searching again. But no matter how many resumes I fire out into the void I have yet to get as far as even a single interview. It still feels like my degree isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. The only thing recruiters want is 5 years of experience in some technology that came out 2 years ago, and I can’t get experience because I don’t have experience.

Slay the Spire is meant to be a difficult strategy game, balance matters in order to maintain that difficulty. To me it actually does scratch a similar kind of itch as some competitive games. I see the Spire as my opponent, and I want it to put up a strong fight.

At launch, infinites were so easy to obtain that the dominant strategy was to force them on nearly every run. Not only was it too easy, it was repetitively dull. The ease with which you could just keep doing the same thing over and over and get away with it sucked all strategy out of the strategy game.

Even after the nerfs, StS2 is still considered to be much easier than its predecessor, even on max difficulty. Part of the goal of Early Access is to work on refining the game’s balance until it’s as polished as the original, so of course those infinites had to be the first priority to address.

The amount of storage and bandwidth Youtube needs is something no competitor could ever hope to match.

I got a Computer Science degree eight years ago, and couldn’t find any entry level position in the field - everybody wants five years experience in software that only came out two years ago. Two years later I begrudgingly took a menial data entry job that has been slowly draining me for the last six years, menial work that’s tedious and honestly just exhausting. They keep assigning me more with tighter deadlines, and I’m pretty certain they’re looking for an excuse to fire me. I’ve been on LinkedIn firing off as many resumes as I can hoping to get out, but I fear than a eight year old degree with no relevant experience in the field maybe just looks like a red flag to employers now.

I wonder which shooting the media will spend more time talking about.

Remember that the far right has been desperately trying to label any LGBTQ-related content as ‘porn’. Educational resources? ‘Porn’. Biographies about gay people? ‘Porn’. Drag queens? ‘Porn’. A book about a boy with two mommies? ‘Porn’. Anything that acknowledges the existence of trans people? ‘Porn’.

The purpose of this bill isn’t to ban porn, it’s to ban ‘porn’. Anything they don’t like will be deemed ‘porn’, and then this gives them the legal justification to ban whatever they want.

I can’t stop thinking about how in 2016, my conservative grandmother watched the primary debates and told me she actually thought Bernie made a lot of good points.

And then she went on to vote for Donald Trump in November.

This, I think, is the disconnect the DNC keeps failing to recognize.

We just keep nominating milquetoast centrists whose message is little more than “maintain the status quo”, when nobody is happy with the status quo.

But we have to run centrist candidates, they say, or else we’ll lose all the voters in the center!

If that’s how it works, then why is the GOP winning by doing the exact opposite?

In a world where rent keeps going up but wages stay the same, people are scared and frustrated, and they don’t feel like their frustrations are heard.

Along comes a smooth-talking con man who tells them, “I know you’re angry at the world, and I’m going to give you a scapegoat to blame it on. It’s the immigrants’ fault. It’s trans people’s fault. It’s the woke left’s fault. It’s whatever target I tell you to hate next’s fault. And if you elect me, I will stick it to these people in order to Make America Great Again!”

Meanwhile, the best we can do is “Vote for me because everything that other guy said is horrifying.” That’s it. That’s the only real sales pitch we have for Harris. But no matter how terrible the other guy is, it reflects horribly on us that we can’t even talk about our own candidate’s merits at all.

We need to run a candidate who can say, “I too know you’re angry at the world. And I’m here to offer real solutions, not snake oil, and more importantly, not the status quo either.”

The difference between the right and left here is that the right actually likes their guy. And if not even we like our candidates, why should voters?

Alas, we learned nothing in 2016 and I suspect the DNC will continue to learn nothing now.
