Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•Things Are Looking Quite Bad for TrumpEnglish
21·5 months agoThat headline is rubbish, so I assume the article is as well.
If I believed in God I’d simply know Trump is the antichrist, but it doesn’t matter. Trump seems to have absolute immunity for every crime, every scandal, every ghastly thing he says. Things have never and will never “look bad” for Trump until he’s dead, and if he dies while he’s President, rest assured JD Vance will be worse.

2·5 months agoMight tucker out after a few months, but I’ll at least start by checking every bill at the bank and asking for exchanges. “Give me currency without that scumbag’s signature, please.”

19·6 months agoIt’s a chance to bring suffering and perhaps death to the weakest and most vulnerable, so there was little doubt how the Republican Supreme Court would rule.

News@lemmy.world•Why Is The Cook County State's Attorney Prosecuting Nonviolent ICE Protesters?English
18·6 months agoThe article doesn’t quite answer the headline’s question, so I will: Why are they prosecuting non-violent protesters? Because cops are cops, so local cops support ICE, and prosecutors are virtually always on the cops’ side. There is no-one in government who actually believes you have a right to peacefully protest, unless you luck into a judge who still has a soul.

102·7 months agoThe news keeps getting better and better! DHS is largely a useless agency, and eliminating these special privileges for “certain people” will give those people a small reminder of reality for the rest of us.

News@lemmy.world•Wikipedia Blacklists Archive.today, Starts Removing 695,000 Archive LinksEnglish
28·7 months agoCrap. Obviously, I’m gonna gotta stop using archive.today, but it’s the only way around paywalls at numerous sites.
Removepaywalls.com (plural) inserts ads, often for shady operations.
Removepaywall.com (singular) usually works, but it’s tricky sharing the links (i.e., “choose option 2” or “choose option 4”).
Byebyepaywall.com has old, dead options.
Wayback Machine bombs out a lot.
And ghostarchive.org is successful so rarely it’s really a last resort.
Anyone know of any others?
