Fauci’s really been done dirty. He was the adult in the room during COVID, and his treatment now is his reward? It is a disgrace.
He was the adult in the room on AIDS as well. Look up how Reagan did him dirty too. Honestly Fauci is the closest thing the US has had to a hero in a long long time. Working hard to save people from preventable pandemics. Even as sundowning narcicist sabotage his every move. Doing it because it’s right. Not because he expects anything in return. And all he’s ever gotten in return is grief.
American has a huge undertow of anti-intellectualism. Especially on the right, there are a lot of Americans that have this attitude that their “common sense” trumps actual expertise, knowledge, education, credentials, etc., and this childish attitude of “you cannot tell ME what to do” to go with it. This last part, even though they are herded into this thinking, they often confuse with rugged individualism or something, LOL.
And the republicons have done a lot to make him an expert that you are supposed to hate.
What’s happened to Dr. Fauci is a fucking disgrace and America should be ashamed. Our country is a nation of fucking grown up children acting worse than actual children.
If I’m sick and both rfk jr and dr fauci offer me a pill that will cure me, there is no fucking way I’m even looking at the pill that rfk is holding; he’s not a dr, has no health experience and is just an attention seeking dipshit.

Republicans really looked at a Reagan appointee who, having first overseen Reagan’s famously awful response (or non-response) to AIDS, then lied to the public by validating their own anti-mask bullshit in order to cover for Trump selling off emergency supplies, while advocating against lockdowns, doing basically fuck-all except asking people nicely to wear masks, and they went, “Nah, this guy’s a left-wing radical, we hate his guts, we want the guy who eats roadkill,” and meanwhile Democrats looked at the same and went, “Hell yeah, that’s our guy!”
Democrats really are just Republicans from a couple decades ago, while Republicans are just fully insane.
Neither one of them is remotely trustworthy, there’s only one reliable place to turn to for health advice and it’s international organizations. The idea that any US institutions will be shielded or isolated from political influence is delusional.
To the downvoters: Here’s a clip of him spewing all kinds of misinformation, which the anti-maskers would run with. The only reason he said any of that nonsense was to cover for the administration’s decision to sell off emergency stockpiles. The correct response would have been to completely ignore what he said, and to instead follow the example of other countries where masking was widespread.
