Wrapping in plastic is never an authors choice, and I fully support you avoiding a place that does that.
Not everyone can spend the big money for cons, some will grab what is the most affordable. Hopefully that means a local shop without that wrap, but someone reading any way they can is the most important start.
Shop local when you can. Online is narrowing a market and once there’s only one place to buy they can control the price.
When it comes to books pay the author if you can, publisher second if you have to, and online retailer last.
I appreciate the comment, and understand that it would take some enforcement. I hadn’t realised the NAFTA had changed or been removed or how it currently works.
I know that some sort of identification/understanding of where news is relevant to is something people would benefit from.

What’s racist about the assumption? The vast majority of shootings in the us are by white men, and at a group celebrating a black event the number goes up. The main group of people doing mass shootings in the us is white males at 55%, 87 out of 159:

And this is just mass shootings, the number goes up for individual/specific shootings.
